Water Quality Questioned

Folks:

I will "sift & winnow" and "post" the meeting notes that both myself and John Iras among others were taking during our recent meeting. Please feel free to edit, add comments and/or delete as you see fit.

One of the things that was discussed was the Water Quality Issue regarding Parke and Deer Lakes near OSTC/NW. Copies of the article that appeared in the Oakland Press that morning were passed around to some individuals. If you missed one of those and are interested you can read the article at
http://www.theoaklandpress.com/stories/011305/loc_20050113025.shtml

This could be a great community project for the agri-science program.
*"What's important is to find out the sources of pollution and to get residents monitoring water quality on a regular basis to track changes over time, help identify the sources and trends and remedy them." Jessica Pitelka Opfer, executive director, Clinton River Watershed Council
